Pulsar Summit 2022 〰️
The design team was responsible for creating a wide range of assets for StreamNative’s first in-person summit since the start of the pandemic. The Pulsar Summit took place in August 2022 at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco and featured speakers from leading companies including Google, AWS, Databricks, Onehouse, StarTree, Intel, ScyllaDB, and more.
I collaborated closely with the Senior Visual Designer and the Head of Product Design on a variety of materials, including signage, swag, email banners, social media graphics, name badges, environmental graphics, booth designs, and more.
The Process
Mood Board
The visual theme was initially inspired by pulsar waves, which led me to explore other types of waves, like ocean waves, for their natural rhythm and fluidity. The final design became a hybrid of the two, abstracted to create a sense of depth and calm through layered transparencies and a soothing palette of blue tones.
And what is a pulsar, you may ask? Pulsar waves are the beams of energy (usually radio waves, but sometimes X-rays or gamma rays) that are emitted in regular pulses.
I explored a few options on how I could implement these.
